Jaylene has tribal affiliations across the Eastern Bay of Plenty and East Coast of the North Island. Jaylene has worked in the health sector since 1982, from service delivery level to senior management and formerly filled the role of Maori Health Manager for Southland District Health Board. Jaylene holds a Bachelor of Nursing and has nursed in Aged Care, Maori Health and secondary level hospital services.

Jaylene has been auditing across the health sector since 2001 and has completed Lead Auditor Training. Audits have been completed of PHO’s, Aged Care Facilities, Mental Health, Personal Health, Maori and Pacific providers throughout New Zealand, focusing on quality and contractual compliance. Jaylene has also worked as a Senior Manager in an auditing agency and maintained responsibility for the completion of audit programmes for six (6) DHB’s.

Jaylene is the Managing Director of Nga Pae Amua Ltd and has been working as a consultant/contractor in the health sector since January 2008. Audit work has been completed for Shared Support Agencies, and tailored training sessions have been delivered for primary health care providers. Nga Pae Amua Ltd also assists providers to complete corrective actions post audit.

Jaylene has previously represented Maori on the Ministry of Health’s technical advisory group for “Specialised Services for Older People”. Jaylene is a Board Member of Asthma & Respiratory Services (Waikato) Inc and a Careerforce Assessor.
